Brainstorming is a critical part of the “solve to learn” approach to problem-solving.
It involves generating a large number of ideas or solutions to a problem, without judging or evaluating them at the outset.
SITUATION-FIRST
Most people take an average of 2-3 minutes to jump to a conclusion versus a diagnosis of the facts.
“Diagnosis is not the end, but the beginning of practice. -Martin H. Fischer
SOLVE
Get to know the situation.
“If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.” -Lewis Carroll
TO (THE OUTLINE)
Familiarize yourself with the content and understand the outline.
“I don’t outline. I sit down to write, and I take the ride. If something starts to not feel right, I go back to the last place that felt like jazz to me.: -Taylor Sheridan

SEAL THE DEAL
The goal of brainstorming is to generate as many possible solutions as possible, no matter how unrealistic or far-fetched they may seem. This allows problem-solvers to explore a wide range of options and consider new possibilities that they may not have thought of before.
Brainstorming can be done individually or in a group setting, and it often involves using techniques like mind mapping, free writing, or even just jotting down ideas on sticky notes.
Once a large number of ideas have been generated, they can be evaluated and refined using other problem-solving techniques like prioritization or decision-making.
Overall, brainstorming is an essential tool in the “solve to learn” approach, as it allows problem-solvers to explore multiple perspectives, challenge assumptions and identify innovative solutions to even the most complex problems.
Just keep unriddling!
